The Moore-Norman Technology Center will celebrate its new South Penn Campus with a ribbon cutting at 3:30 p.m. and a grand opening event from 4-6 p.m. at the new site Sept. 29.

"We want to be an asset to the south Oklahoma City community, and increase the programs and services we are offering there," said John Hunter, superintendent of Moore-Norman Technology Center.

The technology center offers classes in health, business, personal development and computer technology, as well as, serving as a conference facility for community businesses and organizations.

A stand-alone business incubator also sits on the campus for new and emerging companies that may need assistance during the high-risk, beginning stages of development. The South Penn Campus includes a conference hall that can accommodate 350 guests.

"People who have not been inside the building talk about how beautiful the building looks from the road, and how it fits in with the neighborhood," said Hunter.

JHBR Architects and Flintco Cos., the design firm and construction management company for the new campus, are sponsoring the grand opening, while the South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the ribbon cutting ceremony.

MNTC's South Penn Campus is located on the corner of SW 134th and Pennsylvania Ave.
