Zaxby's closed

Mark Millsap / The Transcript

All signs have been removed from the former Zaxby's at 1839 W. Main St. The Norman Zaxby's is one of five area restaurants closed by Lady Di Food Groups.

Zaxby's at 1839 W. Main St. is closed.

A sign on the door states Lady Di Food Groups, an independent licensee of Zaxby's, closed five area stores effective immediately.

The letter did not state what other locations closed, but the Zaxby's website showed online ordering was not available at: the Norman restaurant; 6017 W. Reno Ave. and 12215 E. Rockwell Ave., Oklahoma City; 202 W. Hall of Fame Ave., Stillwater; and 1603 Garth Brooks Blvd., Yukon. Phones were not answered at any of the above restaurants.

"This is a strategic business decision based on business performance and local market conditions," according to the letter. "We understand the impact that these closures will have on our team members and the community. We are working to minimize that impact by providing employment opportunities at our other four area locations."

The Zaxby's restaurants remaining open are:

• 2720 S Service Road, Moore

• 5859 Northwest Expressway, Warr Acres

• 1084 E Oklahoma 152, Mustang

• 2317 S Douglas Blvd., Midwest City

Zaxby’s is a growing brand of nearly 1,000 locations, according to an email from the company. The local restaurants that closed were owned and operated by Lady Di Food Groups, an independent Zaxby’s licensee, dedicated to the Oklahoma City community, the email states. Lady Di Food Groups closed these underperforming restaurants to focus on serving guests at its other four area locations.
