Joe Alliniece

NPD is asking the public to be on the lookout for Joe Alliniece, a 6-foot, 275-pound black male who was seen running from the scene of a homicide in the 2800 block of Dewey Avenue in south Norman. If you see Alliniece, call 911. Police consider him dangerous.

UPDATE (8:46 p.m.) — Joe Alliniece, who was wanted in connection with a homicide in Norman Tuesday afternoon, was arrested by members of the Oklahoma City Police Department. He was taken into custody without incident. NPD's homicide investigation continues. We still don't have the name of the victim or how she was killed.

UPDATE (5:45 p.m.) — Police have cleared the area around Emerald Greens Apartments and the OU golf course. Anyone who sees suspect Joe Alliniece is encouraged to call 911.

UPDATE (5:08 p.m.) — Police believe the suspect is now in a vehicle. We do not have a description of the vehicle.

UPDATE (4:35 p.m.) — Norman Public Safety Information Officer Sarah Jensen said NPD received a 911 call about a medical emergency at around 3 p.m. this afternoon in the 2800 block of Dewey Avenue. More details given by the reporting party made the medial call seem suspicious.

When officers arrived on the scene at the Emerald Greens Apartments, they located a deceased female at the scene and were told someone had run from the scene. A suspect, who has been identified as Joe Alliniece, is wanted in connection with the apparent homicide. 

Alliniece was described as 6-foot black male, 275 pounds wearing a black t-shirt and black shorts. It is possible he has blood on his shirt. NPD considers him to be dangerous. Anyone who sees him should call 911. Police are asking people who do not need to be in the area of the scene to avoid the area. The last time Alliniece was seen, he was heading east on Constitution on foot. According to Jensen, Norman police are receiving air support from OKCPD. The relationship between Alliniece and the victim is under investigation. The manner of the victim's death has not been released.

UPDATE (4:16 p.m.) — Norman police have released a photo of the suspect, Joe Alliniece.

UPDATE (3:48 p.m.) — An OU alert stated the suspect was last seen running north from Emerald Greens Apartment.

UPDATE (3:25 p.m.) — According to Norman Public Safety Information Officer Sarah Jensen, officers are responding to a report of a homicide in the 2800 block of Dewey Avenue.

She said officers are currently looking for a man who ran from the scene. He is described as 6-foot black male, 275 pounds wearing a black t-shirt & black shorts. If seen, call 911 immediately.

Staff at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club have been given a description of the individual and were told to be on the look out, but were not asked to take any precautions.

Staff at the nearby Madison Elementary School are also aware of a police situation, but were not contacted about taking any precautionary measures.

ORIGINAL — The University of Oklahoma has issued an alert for a reported law enforcement emergency in the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club area. Police have asked that people avoid the area. Norman Police have responded with mutual aid and are in the process of setting up a perimeter.
