Police lights

The 27-year-old woman who was hit Oct. 25 by a truck near the OU Duck Pond has died, Norman police officials said.

Norman Public Safety Information Officer Sarah Jensen confirmed Friday that Destiny Guerrero, of Norman, died Wednesday evening.

Jensen said while the cause of the collision remains under investigation, police believe a 2007 Toyota Tundra truck, driven by 21-year-old Laura Amstutz, of Tulsa, struck Guerrero while she was walking northbound, crossing Lindsey Street in the crosswalk.

Jensen said westbound Lindsey Street between Classen Boulevard and Jenkins Avenue, as well as eastbound Lindsey Street between McKinley Avenue and George Avenue, were closed for about four hours after the collision.
