Ana Llanusa's being recognized for her breakout sophomore campaign.
The Oklahoma junior guard was named by league coaches to the preseason All-Big 12 team Wednesday.
After rehabbing from foot surgery, Llanusa averaged 19.1 points in conference games a year ago, ranking third. It was the sixth-best scoring average by an OU player against league teams in school history.
She landed on the All-Big 12 second team for her efforts.
Defending national champion highlighted the league honors. Lauren Cox was selected as preseason player of the year. Te'a Cooper, a South Carolina transfer, was named the preseason newcomer of the year. Texas' Celeste Taylor earned preseason freshman of the year.
OU's first exhibition is against Oklahoma City University (Nov. 4, 7 p.m.) at Lloyd Noble Center. The Sooners' open the regular season begins against Prairie View A&M (Nov. 8, 8 p.m.) in the Preseason WNIT at Lloyd Noble Center.
