A Norman man was arrested following a five-car pileup Thursday night at the intersection of W Lindsey Street and Aspen Avenue.
Billy John Turner was traveling with a passenger in a 2006 Black BMW at approximately 10 p.m. Thursday when he ran into the back of a vehicle stopped at a red light, according to a Norman Police Department accident report. Turner immediately drove away from the scene and was involved in another crash that led to multiple injuries, the report states.
One victim was taken to OU Medical Center for possible injuries.
Police arrested Turner and an ambulance took him to Norman Regional Hospital for possible injuries.
There were no condition updates available on either patient Friday afternoon.
Turner was arrested in connection with driving under the influence, personal injury while driving impaired, possession of an open bottle or container, leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a suspended license.
Court records indicate Turner had no record prior to Thursday's events.
