It is the Americans’ eighth title but their first since 2005. Thailand took third place at 22-under, two shots clear of Korea and South Africa (-20) who tied for fourth.

The YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City will host its ninth annual international wine taste event, A Taste of Culture, at Café do Brasil on Sunday. The event helps raise funds to support the Y’s international partnerships with YMCAs in Belo Horizonte, Brazil; the Czech Republic; Valparaiso, Chile; the Mexican Federation of Ys; and the Sioux Indians.

Senior Oklahoma State University engineering majors and cousins Kaitlin Kliewer, from Edmond, and Eric Gilbert, from Stroud, recently earned first place in a world-wide engineering simulation software competition. The winning team, named “Cowboy Nation”, also included Chinnatat Methapatara and Nuttapong Kerkwan, both from Thailand. The team of four competed in a software design competition called Simio — simulation and scheduling software.
