NORMAN — The Oklahoma women’s basketball team will try to stop a nine-game losing streak when hosting Kansas State on Sunday.

Here are four things to know beforehand:

1. The Sooners (5-16, 1-9 Big 12) are coming off an 84-74 loss at Oklahoma State. OU led briefly in the third quarter but the Cowgirls pulled away thanks to Vivian Gray’s career-high 33 points.

OU’s 86-56 loss at Kansas State began the Sooners’ nine-game losing streak, but the Sooners own 11 straight wins against the Wildcats in Norman.

As rough as the season’s been, OU can still finish .500 in the league but it won’t be easy. With eight games left on the schedule, the Sooners would have to win all of them — including at Baylor.

2. After serving a one-game suspension due to undisclosed violation of team rules, Shaina Pellington returned against Oklahoma State and scored seven points.

Though the sophomore guard had 25 points in a loss at Kansas, she has scored seven points or less in five of her last nine outings.

Ana Llanusa has carried the Sooners lately, leading them in scoring for two straight games. She’s averaging a team-high 14.1 points in Big 12 play.

3. Kansas State has struggled to score, ranking last in the Big 12 in points per game (62.3) and eighth in field-goal percentage (40.7). The Wildcats are shooting just 28.6 percent from beyond the arc.

Senior point guard Kayla Goth’s 6.4 assists per game rank second in the Big 12. Junior forward Peyton Williams (15.3 ppg) is second in the league in rebounding (9.7 per game).

4. OU will look a little different on the court Sunday. Players will wear pink Jordan Brand uniforms for its annual Play4Kay game to celebrate awareness of women’s cancer and the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Coach Sherri Coale will wear a custom pair of Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG shoes.
