Norman North's quarterback depth took a hit this offseason.
Jacob Switzer is leaving the school, and will transfer to Prestonwood Christian Academy for his senior year.
Prestonwood is a private school located in Plano, Texas, and competes in the highest classification of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools.
Switzer, the grandson of former Oklahoma football coach Barry Switzer, started at quarterback for the Timberwolves last season, but missed time after suffering an ankle injury during Week 3.
It leaves the Timberwolves, who enter their second year under coach Justin Jones, with one less experienced varsity player. Switzer learned under former North quarterbacks Brandon Marquardt, who started in 2017, and Ryan Peoples, who started in 2018.
Although, North’s 2019 quarterback room isn’t without experience.
Jackson Remualdo stepped up as a sophomore last season and took over as the Timberwolves’ first-string quarterback after Switzer went down with an injury.
Remualdo and rising senior Carson Speer are the most experienced players in North’s quarterback room. They're tasked with helping North recover after going 2-8 last season.
North opens its 2019 campaign on Sept. 5 vs. Norman High.
