Friday’s Games

Norman High

at Edmond Santa Fe

When: 7 p.m.

Place: Wolves Stadium

1901 W. 15th St., Edmond

Records & Rankings: NHS 7-2 (4-2 District 6A-I-1), No. 5; ESF 7-2 (5-1), No. 2

Need to know: Santa Fe lost to Mustang and beat Norman North 14-7, but has also beaten Broken Arrow and Jenks on the road. Go figure. That aside, it’s a huge game for the Tigers. Win and there’s a great chance they dodge Owasso in favor of Mustang the first round of the playoffs. Winning could be the ticket into Class 6A-I’s final four.

Radio: KREF-AM 1400, 99.3 FM (NHS); KRXO-FM 107.7 (Westmoore)

at Norman North

When: 7 p.m.

Place: Harve Collins Field

Records & Rankings: Southmoore 1-8 (1-5 District 6A-I-2), unranked; North 2-7 (2-4), unranked

Need to know: No matter how trying a season it’s been for the T-Wolves, win tonight and the program’s increased its win total by 300 percent over last season. That’s progress. It’s even a two-game winning streak heading into next season’s Clash.

Radio: FM 98.5 (North); AM 1560 (Southmoore)

Webcast: NormanSports.TV

at Jenks

When: 7 p.m.

Place: Allan Trimble Stadium

205 E. B St., Jenks

Records & Rankings: Westmoore 6-3 (3-3 District 6A-I-1), No. 8; Jenks 5-4 (4-2), No. 4

Need to know: As stunning as it might be for a west-side team to win the state championship, Jenks failing to make the playoffs would be equally stunning and that could happen with a Jaguar victory. Also, that victory is Westmoore’s only path to the postseason.

Radio: KRXO-FM 107.7

at Moore

When: 7 p.m.

Place: Moore Stadium

Records & Rankings: Mustang 6-3 (4-2 District 6A-I-2) No. 7; Moore 5-4 (4-2), No. 9

Need to know: Moore is all but a playoff lock, leaving this game to be more about momentum than anything else. Coming off a 34-7 loss to Owasso, the Lions could use it. Also, win tonight and Moore secures a winning season no matter what happens in the playoffs.

Radio: KOKC-AM 1520, FM 95.3

Community Christian

at Crooked Oak

When: 7 p.m.

Place: Crooked Oak Stadium

1901 SE 15th St., Oklahoma City

Records & Rankings: CCS 4-5 (3-3 District 2A-7), unranked; Crooked Oak 0-9 (0-6), unranked

Need to know: Crooked Oak’s closest game has been an 18-point loss to Class A Oklahoma Christian Academy. Barring catastrophe, the Royals are headed to the playoffs, needing only to win. Still, maximizing the game requires staying healthy and actually using the game to get better heading into the postseason.

Little Axe

at Star Spencer

When: 7 p.m.

Place: Carl Twidwell Stadium

3001 Spencer Rd., Spencer

Records & Rankings: Little Axe 2-7 (1-5 District 2A-7), unranked; Star Spencer 4-5 (1-5), unranked

Need to know: Every season feels better when closed with a victory and the Indians have that chance. Also, it’s a winnable game. In the past two weeks, both teams have played Stratford. Star Spencer fell 20-7. Little Axe fell 6-0.

at Noble

When: 7:30 p.m.

Place: Noble Stadium

Records & Rankings: Southeast 1-8 (0-6 District 5A-1), unranked; Noble 8-1 (6-0), No. 5

Need to know: No game is a victory lap with the playoffs looming, but still the Bears have already won their district and tonight’s a chance to put a struggling Spartan team away early, rest players who might need some rest and close out a spectacular regular season.
