Paul George had already undergone one surgical procedure on one of his shoulders this offseason. Tuesday, it was the other shoulder’s turn.
As announced by a Thunder spokesperson, George underwent a successful procedure on his left labrum on Tuesday. The previous procedure addressed his right rotator cuff.
No word was given on when, precisely, he will be reevaluated, only that his status would be addressed prior to the beginning of the season.
George, himself, in his April 25 exit interview, left open the possibility that addressing his health issues in the offseason might require him to miss part of the Thunder’s training camp.
Since Oklahoma City’s season ended, George has been named to the NBA’s all-defensive first team.
He is also a finalist for the NBA’s MVP award, though Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo and Houston’s James Harden are heavy favorites to finish one-two in the voting.
