Oklahoma guard Trae Young hit a jumper with 17:13 remaining against Baylor to break the Big 12 record for most points in a regular season.

Young, who still has one game left before postseason, against Iowa State Friday at home, became the first Big 12 player ever to score more than 800 points. Kansas State's Michael Beasley had 795 in 2007-08. He finished with 18 points on 7 for 20 shooting with five assists and eight turnovers in Tuesday's 87-64 loss to Baylor in Waco, Texas. That gives Young 811 points on the season.

Only one other player from a major conference has scored 800 or more points in a regular season in the last 20 years. That was Duke's J.J. Redick, who scored 833 in 2005-06, which helped win him the National Player of the Year as a senior. Young is the only freshman to reach 800 points in a regular season in the last 20 years in any conference.
